Terms of service

The deal, in language you can actually check.

These terms are the agreement between you and studioheadshot.ai. Using this site means you accept them.

The parts most people care about. You pay before we generate. The headshots we deliver are yours — use them anywhere, commercially, forever, and we will never use your face in our own marketing. Upload only your own face. AI likeness isn’t perfect, so if your set is wrong there is a real refund policy behind it.

What you’re buying

You upload reference photographs, pick one or more looks, and we generate a set of headshots from them. For every look you buy we generate ten frames and deliver the eight that best match your uploads — the other two are discarded rather than padded into your album.

Pro is $19.99 for two looks. Premium is $39.99 for four. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may apply where you are. We can change prices at any time, but never for an order you have already paid for.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract. You need a Google account, because that is the only way to sign in. One person per account: don’t share your login, and don’t buy a set on behalf of someone who hasn’t agreed to this themselves.

The photographs you upload

Upload only photographs of yourself. This is the rule the whole product rests on, and you confirm it explicitly before anything is processed. Uploading someone else’s face — a colleague, a celebrity, a stranger, a photo you found — is not permitted, and generating a likeness of a person who has not consented can be unlawful regardless of what our terms say.

You also confirm you have the right to use the photographs you upload. If a photographer took them, that is normally a licence question between you and them, and it is yours to resolve, not ours.

You give us permission to process those photographs for exactly one purpose: checking them, generating your headshots, and delivering them to you. That permission covers the AI providers listed in the privacy policy, because the work cannot happen without them. It covers nothing else.

What you own

The headshots we deliver are yours. As far as we can grant it, you get full ownership of the images in your album: use them on LinkedIn, on a company site, in print, commercially, indefinitely, with no credit to us and no further payment.

We will not use your face to advertise this product. Not on the landing page, not in an example gallery, not in a testimonial, not even with your permission asked casually after the fact. Every face in our marketing is synthetic. You do not have to opt out of anything.

One honest caveat about ownership: AI-generated images sit awkwardly in copyright law, and in several countries an image with no human author may not attract copyright at all. That is a limit of the law, not a right we are holding back. It affects your ability to stop someone else copying the image; it does not affect your ability to use it.

Paying

Payment is taken up front, before generation starts, through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. You are buying a specific number of looks, and each look is consumed when its generation run begins.

Refunds

Set out in full on the refund policy page, which forms part of these terms. In short: if you haven’t downloaded anything, email us within 14 days of delivery for a full refund, no questions. If you have downloaded, we sort it out case by case and usually re-run your set for free.

What AI can’t promise

Generated headshots are an approximation of you, not a photograph of you. Likeness varies, and it varies most with the quality and variety of the photos you upload — which is why we check them before you pay and tell you when they are weak. Generating ten frames per look and delivering the best eight stacks the odds; it does not guarantee an outcome.

Occasional artefacts — hands, jewellery, glasses, hair edges, lettering — are a known limitation of every current image model. We screen for them and discard the worst, but we cannot promise a set with none. If yours isn’t good enough, that is what the refund policy is for.

Things you must not do

  • Upload photographs of anyone other than yourself.
  • Upload sexual, violent, or illegal imagery, or anything involving a minor.
  • Use the output to impersonate someone, to create a fake identity, or to mislead anyone about who you are.
  • Resell, rebrand or automate access to the service, or try to extract our prompts, models or scoring logic.
  • Attack the service — scraping, probing, circumventing limits, or interfering with other customers.

Break these and we may suspend or close your account. If we close it because of something in this list, we don’t owe you a refund. If we close it for any other reason, we refund what you have paid for work not delivered.

Our side of it

The site, the styles, the prompts and the scoring that decides which frames you receive remain ours. Buying a set buys you the images, not the machinery that produced them.

We will try to keep the service running and your albums available, but we don’t promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or withdraw features. Download the headshots you care about rather than treating your album as permanent storage.

Legal necessities

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law does not permit us to exclude. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost work, lost opportunities, or a job you didn’t get — and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by any of this.

You agree to cover us against claims arising from photographs you uploaded that were not yours to upload.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the foot of the page shows when, and material changes will be notified before they take effect. Continuing to use studioheadshot.ai after that means you accept the new version. Changes never apply retroactively to an order already placed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, and disputes go to the courts there — except that if you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep whatever rights and local courts your own law gives you. Please email support@studioheadshot.ai before anything formal; almost everything is fixable that way.
